I own the Samick MB1 and it is a fantastic guitar. It uses most of the same parts as the Fender Stratocaster! Samick is a much bigger company than you might realize. Samick makes just about and maybe a little over half of the guitars in the world. They are fantastic guitars. The whole line of samick is fantastic. this guitar is $147.99 which is a fantastic price. I got mine for $300 because I got the guitar, amp, tuner, Picks, and all that schmaltz. You can really do some amazing things with this guitar. If you have ever seen a "Fender" STARcaster, you might think "I want something with the 'Fender' name on it" Well then don't get a starcaster. They aren't Fender's. Samick makes them but they make them inferior to the Malibu. Fender inspects it and stamps their name on it but it isn't made in a Fender factory. Samick also makes Epiphone, which is Gibson's lower brand. But again the Samick prevails. The Epiphones are still okay Guitars, But if you want a good a good Electric Guitar then go to Samick. Samick also makes an Avion Sieres which is Samick's Les Paul. Every guitarist knows that Les Pauls, and Strats (Stratocasters) are the Holy Grail of guitars. The Malibu is Samick's Strat, The Avion is Samick's Les Paul. They also match in quality. An Avion pretty much is a les paul, except much cheaper because it has the Avion name. Same with the Malibu. Take it from a 13 yr old expert.
